Native Americans and other indigenous peoples have burned sage for centuries as part of a spiritual ritual to cleanse a person or space, and to promote healing and wisdom. It’s been used since the time of the ancient Egyptians and Romans to treat digestive issues, memory problems, and sore throats.
When sage is burned, it releases negative ions, which is linked to putting people into a positive mood. The Latin word for sage ‘salvia’ stems form the word heal. Other qualities believed to be associated with sage when burned are giving wisdom, clarity, and increasing spiritual awareness.
Some breakage is possible in transport.
We recommended taking a few leaves from the bundle and burning them separately so you can control the amount of smoke created.
